We use the Sebatier equation. That won the 1912 noble prize in chemistry. At the time the process lot to be endothermic, which would take in energy! And would not happen in nature.
But the process also does a massively exothermic molecular nuclear fusion. Making a net process very energetic!

So we use copper alloy engineering. And get our free natural gas! Farmers grow rapeseed, and process into a biological diesel oil. We pass this down A Nickle honeycomb capitalist, at which we pass the methane gas.
And the Nickle hydrogen its the fuel oil, to form petrol.
2 C₁₂H₂₆+4CH₄→C₁₆H₃₄+2H₂ so we get oil oil and a bit of hydrogen gas. The oil industry is for ever producing a trace of hydrogen gas. Wish that burn off!

3 16CH₄+P+(Ni)→C₁₆H₃₄+14H₂ so we get lots of hydrogen, to cycle back to other chemical processes. And now we do not need rape seed oil. Which go direct from carbon dioxide in the air, to tango cell petrol leaving the factory gate,
And the petrol is formed from carbon dioxide in the air! Released as you burn the petrol under pressure at low temperature. So totally carbon neutral!
The massively undercutting the over priced oil or sold by Opec and Russia. You should ever the income from oil and gas out of the Russian GDP, rasher is massively in the red.
Germany has fantastic chemical firms. I am staggered they have already had not set up the chemical plants to make gas and petrol. It was all in the 1912 noble prize! For ozone layer somebody had translated the French into German.
By Germans do not like taking advice from any other nation. There were probably not even read this document! In the UK Chemical engineers can make and fantastically inexpensive carbon neutral petrol. It really is not hard!
