Manchester and Salford have loads of light engineering firms, due to their involvement in the early industrial revolution of the 18th century.

You could argue murder 12,000 UK pounds half megawatts steam turbine would generate ½ MW of three phase mains voltage AC electricity.  But we get into the problem of how we transfer the lower power to the national grid.
